For over 20 years, my life was controlled by crack and alcohol addiction. It led me down a dark road—legal troubles, three rehab stays, countless detoxes, and eventually, homelessness. I tried and failed to get clean more times than I can count. Sobriety felt impossible, like something meant for other people, but not for me.
Then one day, I had a sobering thought: If I didn't take control of my life, I would die way too early and be remembered—not as the guy who had so much potential and was so funny, but as the guy who just couldn’t seem to make sobriety stick. That thought terrified me. I knew I had to change.
In 2011, I finally took control. Since then, I’ve built something I never thought possible—a life so exciting and purpose-driven that I never want to escape from it.
I lost 40 pounds, quit smoking, drinking, and drugs. I became a marathon runner and, at 51 years old, I qualified for the Boston Marathon—a goal that once felt as impossible as getting sober. But I realized something: staying sober isn’t about willpower. It’s about building a future so compelling that you refuse to give it up for anything.
That’s why, in 2023, I created The Forge—a recovery community designed for people like me, people who are done with rock bottom and ready to build something incredible. My mission is simple: to help others create a life so fulfilling that staying sober isn’t a struggle—it’s the best choice they’ve ever made.
If you’re ready to stop fighting addiction and start building a future you’re excited about, let’s get to work.
